Pathology lab software for Indian labs

One system for the whole lab — not five that don’t talk to each other.

Most labs stitch together a registration register, a billing app, the analyzer’s own software, a spreadsheet for doctor payouts and WhatsApp for reports. LabMatrix is the single, controlled path that runs all of it — from the patient at the front desk to the signed report in their hand.

01 · Front desk

The day starts on one screen — registration, orders and the cash counter.

Register a patient with duplicate detection so the same person isn’t entered twice, build their order from your own test and panel menu, and take payment with a GST-ready invoice — without leaving the counter. The dashboard keeps the day’s orders, turnaround time, pending approvals and revenue in front of you.

  • Patient registration with fuzzy duplicate detection
  • Orders built from your own test & panel menu
  • GST invoicing and a one-tap end-of-day close
  • Today’s orders, turnaround time and revenue at a glance

02 · The bench

Enter, validate, approve — and catch a QC drift before it reaches a patient.

Every result walks the same NABL-aligned route. Values are entered against each test’s own parameters and reference ranges, a second pair of eyes validates them, and the pathologist approves — three steps, never skipped. Westgard multi-rule QC runs on your controls in parallel, so a drifting analyzer is flagged at the bench, not after the report has gone out.

  • One worklist for every pending result, by department
  • Three-step enter → validate → approve (ISO 7.4.1)
  • Westgard rules — 1₂s warns; 1₃s / 2₂s / R₄s / 10ₓ reject
  • Panic values flagged for escalation before approval

03 · The pathologist’s desk

A bilingual interpretation — drafted by the assistant, signed by a human.

The assistant drafts a plain-language interpretation against each test’s reference range, in English or Hindi. The pathologist reads it, edits anything, and approves — nothing reaches a patient or a referring doctor on the AI’s word alone. LabMatrix is assistive software, not a medical device; the pathologist signs.

  • A plain-language draft, per test, against the reference range
  • English or Hindi — in the patient’s own language
  • The pathologist reviews, edits and approves every line
  • Critical results escalated before anything is released

04 · What comes out

A lab-branded report and a GST bill — generated, not glued together.

From one approved record LabMatrix produces the report your lab is proud to hand over — your branding, per-page patient identification, reference ranges, validated-by and approved-by signatories, and a bilingual option — alongside the right GST document, a Tax Invoice or a Bill of Supply, and a thermal receipt for the counter.

  • Custom report templates per department
  • Per-page patient ID, reference ranges and signatories
  • GST Tax Invoice or Bill of Supply, sequentially numbered, with a full audit trail
  • Delivered on SMS or WhatsApp — or printed at the counter

05 · The business behind the bench

Pay referring doctors right, bill B2B clients cleanly, and stop quiet leakage.

Per-doctor, per-test commission rules compute automatically as orders complete — no month-end spreadsheet. B2B clients and collection centres get their own rate cards and a single consolidated invoice. A revenue-leakage check surfaces discount abuse, unusual void patterns and unbilled tests against the day’s orders, so money stops slipping through the cracks.

  • Automatic per-doctor, per-test commission rules
  • B2B rate cards and consolidated invoicing
  • Revenue-leakage detection — voids, discounts, unbilled tests
  • End-of-day close that ties every payment to the day’s orders

Under the floor

The plumbing a lab owner shouldn’t have to think about.

The parts you never see decide whether you can trust the parts you do. Here’s what runs underneath.

Isolation in the database

PostgreSQL row-level security on a dedicated non-superuser role. One lab cannot read another’s patients — enforced beneath the application, not by a screen filter.

Talks to your analyzers

Results flow in over HL7 and ASTM and worklists flow back out, so values land against the right order without re-typing.

Delivers on SMS & WhatsApp

Reports and one-time codes go out over DLT-registered SMS routes and WhatsApp — the channels Indian patients actually read.

Passwordless staff login

Staff sign in with a one-time code on their phone. Nothing to reset, nothing on a sticky note, nothing to phish.

English & Hindi, simple mode

The whole interface switches between English and Hindi, with a simple mode for larger touch targets at a busy counter.

A complete audit trail

Who entered, validated, approved or amended each result — and when — recorded for every order, the way an assessor expects.

Transparent pricing — one subscription per lab.

No “contact us to find out the price.” Starter and Growth are priced in the open; Enterprise is a custom quote for multi-branch labs.
